Founder and President
Founder of Segalla Architects, Ned Segalla is the director of the Tel Aviv studio. In his long and varied career, Ned has earned several awards and honors, including the prestigious Kaplan Award. His architectural education was completed in beautiful Italy, the influence of which can be seen in his sophisticated yet playful designs. Ned’s vast experience makes him a versatile and agile designer, having built large and small projects on large and small budgets.
Ned is a polyglot, speaking Romanian, French, Italian, and Hebrew.

Born in Romania toward the end of WWII, Ned was raised in Ploesti. He lived there until he graduated from high school, when his family moved to Tel Aviv. Soon after, Ned moved to Italy to pursue his dream of becoming an architect. In 1970, Ned graduated summa cum laude with a PhD from the internationally renowned Istituto Universitario di Drchitettura in Venice, Italy.
Upon graduating, Ned was handpicked by his professor Dr. Giuseppe Gambirazio to intern at his office in Bergamo, Italy. After finishing his internship, Ned was reunited with his family in Tel Aviv and he joined the team at the award-winning firm, Idelson Tzipor Architects.
In 1975, Ned struck out on his own and founded Segalla Architects in Tel Aviv.
In addition to his responsibilities with Segalla Architects, Ned also served as the City Engineer for the rapidly-growing city of Or Yehuda from 1978 to 1990. In this post, he was given an award of excellence in recognition of his commitment and consistent efforts beyond the call of duty.
In 1982 Ned won the Kaplan Award, the highest honor awarded by the Ministry of Construction and Housing in Israel, for his management of the planning team and executing revitalization projects for the city of Or Yehuda.
He continues his work today with Segalla Architects, drawing on his varied experiences in drastically changing environments.
